You're trusting us with your child's allergies and who's allowed to collect them. The least we owe you is a straight answer about where that information goes. Here it is, without the legalese.

Who we are
Noisy Book Club is run by Becca in Walthamstow, London. We're the ones responsible for looking after the information on this page. Any question, or anything you want changed or deleted, goes to becca@noisybookclub.com and we'll deal with it.
What we collect, and why
- When you book a place— your name, email and phone number, your child's name, and which sessions you booked. We need these to give you a place and to contact you about it.
- When you fill in the registration form— your child's age and school, anything you tell us about allergies, medical conditions, medication or additional needs, your home address, who's allowed to collect them and their phone numbers, and your collection password. We ask for these so we can look after your child safely. We can't run the club without them.
- When you get in touch or join a waiting list — your name, email, phone number and whatever you write in the message. Just so we can reply.
- When you visit the site — anonymous page-view counts, so we know which pages are worth keeping. No names, and nothing that identifies you personally.
Health information and photos
Allergies, medical conditions and additional needs count as health information, which gets extra protection in law. We only ask for it to keep your child safe at the club, we only use it for that, and we only collect it because you've ticked the box on the registration form to say we can. You can withdraw that at any time by emailing us — though we may then not be able to offer your child a place, because we wouldn't be able to look after them properly.
Photos and videos are separate, and entirely your call. The registration form asks what you're happy with — from “our records only” through to “please don't photograph my child at all” — and we stick to whatever you pick. Change your mind whenever you like; just email us.
Who else sees it
We don't sell your information and we don't share it with anyone for marketing. A handful of companies handle bits of it so the site works at all:
- • Stripe — takes the payment. Your card details go straight to them and never touch our site.
- • Supabase — the database your booking and registration form are stored in.
- • Vercel — hosts the website and counts page views.
- • Resend — sends the confirmation and reminder emails.
- • Kit— sends the newsletter, if you've signed up for it.
- • Google Analytics — only if you accept the cookie banner. Decline and it never loads.
Staff and helpers at a session see the bits they need to look after your child — allergies, collection arrangements — and nothing more.
How long we keep it
We keep your booking and registration details while your child is coming to the club, and for a while afterwards in case they come back — so a returning family doesn't have to start from scratch, and so we have a record of what we were told if a question ever comes up about a session. In practice that means roughly a year after the last session your child attended, and longer only where we have to (an accident record, or an unresolved complaint).
If you'd rather we didn't hold it, just email becca@noisybookclub.com and ask us to delete it. We'll do it, and confirm when it's done. Otherwise we keep it as described above.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you what we hold, correct anything that's wrong, delete it, or stop using it for something. You can also unsubscribe from the newsletter with the link at the bottom of any email. One address for all of it: becca@noisybookclub.com. We'll come back to you within a month, usually a lot sooner.
If we've got something wrong and you're not happy with how we've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We'd much rather you told us first and gave us the chance to fix it.
Cookies
Nothing that tracks you around the internet. We count page views so we know which pages people actually read, and if you accept the banner we also load Google Analytics for a bit more detail. Decline and it never loads — the site works exactly the same either way.
