πͺ‘ Saturday Morning Club
A Noisy Book Club x One of Six collaboration
Some kids will dive feet-first into something new like it's a bag of giant marshmallows. Others want a guarantee they'll be great at it before they'll even consider starting. And most of us, at some point, have wanted to chuck something in the bin because it didn't turn out 'perfectly'.
Saturday Club is a four-part workshop where kids can make, experiment, learn new skills, and get comfortable with things not always going to plan.
It's a new collaboration between Noisy Book Club and One of Six, bringing together the growth mindset work we do every week at NBC with proper textiles craft. We get many requests to run our workshops at the weekend, and we are answering those calls!
Over four Saturdays at the One of Six cabin, kids will make a personalised pillow from scratch. They will be dyeing fabric with natural materials, adding their own design with embroidery, and learning to sew it together on the machines.
Along the way, we'll explore the 'bleurgh' feeling of getting stuff wrong, the stories we tell ourselves when we do, and how our self-talk shapes what we do next. Because round here, we are all about being able to work through the going-wrong-bit. πͺ
Starts Saturday 3rd October Β· 4 weeks Β· 10amβ12pm Β· One of Six cabin. Β£42 per session, booked as a block of 4 (Β£168).
π¨ October Half Term
Noisy Book Club x One of Six x Angry Dan (on select days)
We've got half term provision running across three weeks, from 19 October to 6 November. And on a few of those days, we're joined by a very special guest: Angry Dan.
If you live in Walthamstow, you already know his bold murals and uplifting limericks. They're on the side of your kid's school and that wall on your commute. Angry Dan has murals all over the borough, and on select days this half term, he's coming to paint with us. We are excited.
On Dan days, kids get to work alongside him, turning the words that get them through hard days into full-blown, wall-worthy mural art, plus embroidery and sewing skills along the way. On every other day, it's proper sewing. The kids will be learning to sew, with all the growth mindset work we do every week woven straight through it.
Give me a shout if you have any questions!
