Hey !
Ever wish you could read a book, then send it on its own little adventure? I’ve got a fun idea for us to try together.
Introducing… The Noisy Book Chain!
Remember those chain letters from the 90s? (Don’t worry - this one actually makes sense, plus you get a book out of it!) Each week, when I send my book recommendation, you’ll have the chance to be the first reader. Here’s how it works:
Reply to this email if you want to read this week’s book.
The first person to reply gets the book sent to them (I’ll be in touch to arrange postage - don’t worry, I’ll make it easy and safe for everyone).
Once you’ve finished, you’ll post the book on to the next person in the chain. I’ll help coordinate the list so it’s all smooth and no pressure.
That’s it! Simple, fun, and a lovely way for us all to share stories and connect as a community.
Ready to give it a try? Here’s this week’s pick…

Don’t Worry, Little Crab
Chris Haughton (Author, Illustrator) - Walker Books
Keeping with our theme of trying out new things, I present to you Don’t Worry, Little Crab. I absolutely love Chris Haughton’s books, and this one is no exception.
Little Crab feels nervous about trying something new, but Big Crab is right there, offering support. Together, they take on new challenges - even when they feel a bit scary. It’s a super sweet reminder that building independence doesn’t mean being thrown in at the deep end. Instead, it’s about taking small steps, gently trying things out, and - most importantly - having someone safe by your side at the start.
Sounds good, right? If you’d like to be the first link in our Noisy Book Chain, just email me back and let’s get this chain going!
This is our first little step together.
No usual newsletter this week - let’s keep the focus on this new adventure.
Always cheering for you,
Becca
P.S. I can’t resist sharing this: here’s Tom Hardy reading Don’t Worry, Little Crab on CBeebies Bedtime Stories. You’re welcome!
