I'm terrible at public speaking

Estimated

Hello there Clarke

I kicked off the year by putting my own Growth Mindset into action on Monday: giving a training session on Growth Mindset to the entire staff at Lloyd Park Children’s Charity on their INSET day.

I’ve not stood up in front of that many people and presented since my daughter was born… in fact, since before COVID. Online is not the same as a room full of faces.

I was a little nervous to start, but I got into it, and it was great

I used to think I was terrible at public speaking. To say I was nervous about it is an understatement.

But then I learnt that it's by facing challenges that we overcome them. So I started forcing myself to do it.

And it got easier.

It’s still nerve-wracking, for sure. As I talked about with the amazing staff at LPCC this week, it’s not about pretending things aren’t hard or scary. They can be! But when we step up to the challenge, we get better at them.

This is something we unpick in Mindset Made Easy: the icky feeling that mistakes and challenges can bring up. But then I show you how to face them and move through them with your child, together.

I wish I’d known this stuff as a kid and saved myself hours of anguish.

Help your child build up the resilience they deserve to get through their show-and-tells/presentations/vivas.

Becca

Ps Did I tell you I’m off on the 18th for a little while? And Mindset Made Easy is the cool price of just £59 till then?  A little ‘see you later’ present to London.

My emails will be a little shorter over the next few weeks till we’re a bit settled! Maybe you prefer the shorter emails… feel free to hit reply and let me know.
