Happy New Year !
I hope you’re managing to get some rest… not always easy with kids over Christmas. I did get a ten-minute nap one day, which felt like a Christmas miracle!
So now it’s 2025.
Personally, I’m well over the whole New Year Resolutions thing. But I’m definitely into setting intentions. Resolutions feel like fail/pass. Intentions are much more fluid, like the reality of life, and especially the reality of life with kids.
So let’s start the new year with some Growth Mindset thinking and set an intention for 2025.
Since becoming a mum, I’ve become much worse at keeping in touch with the people I love. One of my intentions is to get better at it. I regularly compose texts to friends and family in my head when I’m on the go, but mostly fail to actually put them into my phone. Or maybe I'll almost make it and tap in half the text but then get distracted.
And I’m terrible at calling.
But we’re shortly moving abroad for a few months, and that makes this need feel more pressing.
So I’m going to sit down today and come up with ideas for a system to help me get better at it. Success is always much more likely when we have a plan.
What would you like to get better at this year?
Maybe have a think about it while you enjoy the rest of the holidays.
